Carla Van Voorst is Owner of Holographic Healing, https://holographichealing.online, and has been practicing energy healing since 1995. Certified in Pranic Healing, Bodytalk, Reiki, Hypnotherapy, and currently working on NLP courses, Carla is well versed in her field and passionate about her profession.

Holographic Healing is focused in aiding in PTSD, Trauma, Anxiety, Depression, and othe Physical Ailments. Carla offers a neutral and safe space and a customized a treatment plan.

Carla has been studying and practicing Bodytalk and other forms of energy healing since 1995 when her husband was sick and the medical system could not do anything for him. Carmela Shabazz is Director, Corporate Development and Operations Support for Biomedical Research Alliance of New York. Her motto is “Focus on the Goal Not the Obstacles” and firmly believes that obstacles made her a stronger leader.

Carmela holds her MS in Family and Consumer Science from North Carolina Central University, and BS, Biology from St. Augustine’s University. She is also currently studying for her EdD at Grand Canyon University.

Starting work at fifteen in her dad and uncle’s auto repair shop answering phones and cleaning the stock room, Carmela learned early on the value of hard work. Starting from humble beginnings, she has had the opportunity to work at some great places, do some great things, and work for some great people, including her father. She has lead and learned in various volunteer capacities in her sorority, at church, and community organizations. These experiences helped develop her into the leader she today.

Facing the obstacles of leaders with poor communication skills helped her to communicate better, become intrinsically motivated herself and find ways to motivate her team. Being excluded or overlooked by leaders because of ethnicity or gender sparked her desire to give everybody a seat at the table and allowing that voice to be heard.

Having advanced her leadership skills in developing clear and compelling picture of what needs to be done and why; leading by example and motivating people to excel, she has found much joy in leadership.

A former lawyer, Cheryl has been involved in legal education, adult training, and communication for 40 years. For the last 30 years, she has consulted to business and government on communication projects. She now teaches, researches, and practices plain language communication, and is known as The Plain Language Wizard.

Cheryl is a leader in plain language communications, and a dynamic and vibrant speaker. She is an expert in

• writing, speaking, and teaching about plain language and clear understandings,
• helping clients to become better communicators following her research-based advice.

Cheryl Stephens co-founded International Plain Language Day in 2011 and the Plain Language Association International in 1993 and PLAIN Canada Claire in 2019. She was Chair of PLAIN’s 20^th Anniversary Event and 9^th International Conference PLAIN2013. She is the author of many articles and books, including Plain Language Legal Writing, and Plain Language in Plain English. She launched the popular LinkedIn group Plain Language Advocates. She published the Bathetic List to use humor in criticizing corporate jargon.

In her spare time, she is involved in online training: The Plain Train, The Multilingual Legal Dictionary, Lawyers for Literacy, and Target Crime with Literacy. She enjoys reading and travel.
