Rev. Phyllis Donna Harrell was born November 27, 1961, at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Illinois.  She is the youngest of four children born to Arthur Lee and Gladys P. Harrell, both deceased.  Rev. Harrell is a single parent with two sons, Raphael Alexander Smith age 38, currently residing in Chicago with his wife Whitney, and Solomon Herbert Smith age 35 who lives in Iowa.

Rev. Harrell is a devoted servant of God, to her family, her church and community. In 1994, she graduated from Columbia College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication.  She was ordained as a minister, May 16th 1993 and has worked on a number of projects to improve the lives of the residents within urban communities.  She currently serves as a board member and Treasurer of the 34th Ward Ministerial Alliance.

She serves as President of Spiral Developmental Institute and currently serves as Pastor of Spiral Temple of Truth Church. Phyllis has received numerous honors including the Dorcas Merit Award from the Dorcas Foundation, and Certificates of Merit from both the Spiral Developmental Institute as well as the All-Faith Religious Alliance, Rev. Harrell received the “Unsung Heroine Award” In 1996, from the Cook County Board Commissioner John H. Stroger because of her lifelong commitment to helping people.

Rev. Harrell’s 30 year professional career began with the State of Illinois child welfare system. She has served as independent contractor with the Department of Children and Family Services, as statewide program director of Wednesday’s Child Program.  She serves as the Program Director of Adoption Outreach Program an initiative of the Child Protection Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County, Central Baptist Children’s Home Bridgeport Family Network, and is the Health Care Administrator/Education Liaison for American Health Care Providers.

She has worked with The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and has served as Emergency Support Function ESF #14 Branch Chief for Long Term Recovery efforts in Gulf Coast Recovery efforts in the State of Florida and Alabama, Louisiana, and the six new England states, Massachusetts, Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Connecticut where she has received several letters of recommendations and certificate of appreciation for outstanding services rendered in rebuilding communities and lives.

Phyllis has been the Pastor of Spiral Temple of Truth Church for over 27 years and currently serves as Chief Operation Officer at the Alliance for Community Peace a community-based organization located on the southside of Chicago.  She continues to preach and live the Gospel of Jesus Christ; she firmly believes she can do all things through Jesus Christ who is her strength.  She is a Breast Cancer Survivor and encourages all that she meet.

Rev. Harrell’s hobbies include reading the bible, horseback riding, playing golf, canoeing, swimming, kayaking, parasailing, jet skiing, zip lining, shopping and cooking.  Her favorite Bible verse is Proverbs 3:5. “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart: and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”

Rev. Harrell continues to serve and lead God’s people.  She believes in the Word of God and that Christianity is a way of life, not just a religion.

Amita Jacob is Senior GIS Analyst for the Alberta Municipal Affairs Assessment Services Branch. An IT and GIS Professional with over 15 years of experience, she has worked internationally in both the public and private sectors for countries around the world, including Canada, India and Bahrain. Passionate about her work, she has been able to leverage technology to improve public administration and infrastructure, and is known for her creative approach to problem solving.
 
After earning a master’s degree in Computer Applications from Nagpur University, Amita went on to complete a master’s degree in GIS Applications from Vancouver Island University, where she was consistently on the Dean’s honor list. She has been a recipient of the Bravo Award, Silver Award and E-gov Award, and was featured at the 2011 eWorld Forum for the Ministry of Social Development web GIS application. A skilled public speaker, she spoke at the ESRI User conference in Edmonton in 2019.

Tacana Young, Owner of Tacana’s Kitchen, LLC, https://tacanaskitchen.com is a renowned home chef. Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois to a Teaching Chef, Tacana didn’t find her love for cooking until the age of 30 when she moved to Dallas, Texas in 2004.  After years of being in an industry of service whether it be Singing and touring abroad, working as a mentor for teen girls, Creating beauty with her Freelance Makeup business that was began in 1994 or working in salons as a Licensed Nail Technician to pay off college while pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology this young lady continued to stir up the Gifts that God has bestowed in her life.
 
In 2001 she was diagnosed with Lupus and Rheumatoid Arthritis and advised that she would never walk, use her hands or function as a normal individual her age.  However God had another plan, there has been no obstacle formed that has not been defeated.

Maria Guadagnoli is the Owner of MGI Advocacy and Consulting, https://mgiadvocate.com, where she provides academic and remedial support to high-school and post-secondary students with and without disabilities.  Maria also provides small business support and services to many small businesses, specifically women centered businesses.  She strives to provide structures and find opportunities for women entrepreneurs.
 
A Doctoral Candidate specializing in critical disability studies and disability rights, Maria offers over16 years of experience in educating, tutoring, counseling, training, and providing lectures on various disabilities, Maria founded MGI Advocacy and Consulting to enables those in need with the tools and education to provide full creative, customized potential solutions. Maria’s passion for examining Canadian and international health care systems with themes related to social, cultural, economic, and political influences inspires her to inspect the integrity of structural violence, inequality, vested interests and values in health care provisions, issues, and ethical tensions.
 
She is also a diversity and inclusion expert, and preferred global speaker leading lectures and training for organizations and individuals who advocate for equity and equality for all.  She has a deep commitment to her calling to this profession and is known for her authenticity and ability to work with all people. In her spare time, she enjoys travel, reading, and learning new things.
