Liane Zabel is the owner of Beautiful Permanent Make-Up, Inc., a cosmetic tattoo company specializing in Sapphire-Blading (a special eyebrow microblading method), plasma cosmetic (a special method for eyelid lifting and wrinkle reducing) and Tattoo removal training with the non-laser SKINIAL method.
With over 40 years of experience in her career, Liane is best known for her expertise in microblading, training, plasma cosmetics and anti-aging treatments.
In addition to running Beautiful Permanent Make Up, Inc., Liane is an Independent Consultant for Dr.Juchheim Effect Cosmetics – Body Care & Body Forming products. She finds great pleasure in working with her clients and helping them to achieve the results they have dreamed of, and is passionate about making others not only look, but feel beautiful.
Having attended the Academy of Skilled Crafts, earning a Master Craftsman Certificate in Hairstyling and Makeup 1986, Liane trained in Germany to become a permanent makeup artist in 1992. She spent 15 years as the owner of Salon Liane, an international brand of high-end salons located in Germany and the Canary Islands, before relocating to Canada.
Today, she provides services to clients from across North America and Europe, and is dedicated to making permanent beauty treatments increasingly accessible to the middle class. She continues to train other health and beauty professionals, and is always working to expand and broaden her own skill set. She speaks fluent English and German. Outside of her professional endeavors, Liane enjoys traveling and is an avid reader.

With over 18 years of engineering experience to her credit, Karla Basile Rocha is a highly skilled chemical and design engineer based in Brazil. Currently, she is Smart Solutions Segment Director of OTZ Engenharia and an Engineering Consultant for Ergossol Soluções Tecnológicas. She is specialized mostly in the oil and gas Industry (both onshore and offshore), but also has high knowledge about the chemical, petrochemical and energy sector, as well as a considerably high background as Senior Engineering Manager for recognized companies having led multidisciplinary teams with more than 200 professionals.
For OTZ Engenharia, Karla promotes and develops new business opportunities, focusing on the technology behind tomorrow´s Smart Cities and promoting solutions involving technology for connected and sustainable cities, based on cloud technology and IoT as the backbone infrastructure for more sustainable cities in the future. For Ergossol Soluções Tecnológicas, Karla offers technical support in the Facilities area for Offshore and Onshore Installations, besides Energy Industry, technically evaluating projects and the integrity of existing assets.
Karla also frequently speaks about new business with a focus on technological solutions working with design engineering networks, and strategic planning. She manages projects for refineries and is excited by the prospect of potentially conducting such projects on an international scale.
She has been featured in the media discussing women’s issues in the workforce and women’s empowerment and was awarded with and Honor of Participation. “It is very important for women to believe that they can have a vision. Most women do not allow themselves to think that,” says Karla, who, besides being a successful professional in her area is a mother of 2 small kids (a boy and a girl) and uses that as a fuel to fight for a better position to women in the future. “Juggling motherhood with a demanding career has been helped by an optimistic, problem-solving disposition and with a way high ability to get through things even when they feel impossible.”
Having earned her degree from the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), Karla went on to complete postgraduate studies in Offshore Process Safety and Offshore Automation and Instrumentation Projects from the Instituto SENAI de Educação Superior and conducted by Petrobras (Petróleo Brasileiro S.A.) specialized personnel, and Safety Applied to Oil Exploration and Production Projects from the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ/ COPPE/ SAPEP).
Looking ahead, Karla wants to create a business strategy to align with IT goals but also generates a technology investment roadmap that will guide her company through various strategies to maintain and grow her team and processes. She is fluent in Portuguese, English and Spanish, and credits her success to perseverance, hard work, focus and commitment. Having a passion for coaching the younger generation, she says that “As leaders we are not responsible for harvesting our own success but for cultivating that for the next generations. Our success multiplies each time we lead someone else to success. That is a very great full aspect of being a leader.”

Dr. Carolina Schiappacasse is the CEO and Medical Director of Clinica de Rehabilitacion LAS ARAUCARIAS, a leading Argentinean medical and physical rehabilitation center. A renowned expert in physical medicine, Dr. Schiappacasse is a specialist in amputations both for adults and children and also treats stroke, TBI and SCI patients, and others suffering from a variety of other physical conditions. Having also established and founded the clinic, today Dr. Schiappacasse oversees a rotating staff of 150 doctors and nurses and other presonnel.
With a background in the public health sector, Dr. Schiappacasse earned her medical degree in Rehabilitation from Buenos Aires University, class of 1982. She is a PRM Specialist from the University, and holds diplomas from the Public Ministry of health and SAMFYR, respectively. She also served as a Fellow at the Rehabilitation Department of the Hospital Italiano de Buenos Aires training in amputees and diabetic foot, and completed postgraduate studies in Health Management under the Health Ministry of Buenos Aires Government.
Beyond practicing medicine and running large scale health clinics, Dr. Schiappacasse is an experienced teacher, having taught courses at the University of Buenos Aires, National Rehabilitation Institute and the Prosthetics school of San Martín University. Her professional affiliations are vast, and in addition to her lifetime membership in the WNA include memberships in the Sociedad Argentina de Medicina Física y Rehabilitación—Argentinean PMR, the Argentinean Diabetic Foot Society, co-founding member of the International Society for Prosthesis and Orthotics, founder of the Argentinean Amputees Society, co-founder of the NGO Amputees Without Frontiers, member of the Certification and Recertification Committee in PMR for the Argentine Medical Association, member of the Normalizing Subcommittee for the Categorization of levels of care in PMR, and a Member of Ethical and Honor Board for PMR.
For the great contributions to her field and beneficial effects her work has had on her patients’ lives, Dr. Schiappacasse has been recognized with numerous awards, including the José M. Jorge Award from the National Academy of Medicine (1987, 1996), Merit award by the SMTBA (2009), Merit award for over 20 years in PMR by SAMFYR (2010), National Academy Award from the National Academy of Medicine (2010), and a Certificate of Recognition for her dedicated service and contributions of exceptional merit to the International Society for Prosthetics and Orthotics and the worldwide prosthetics and orthotics community (2010).
Dr. Schiappacasse travels the world to attend conferences and speak on topics of rehabilitation and amputation. She is a mentor and role model to women in medicine and entrepreneurship, and hopes to increase the accessibility of medicine to those who may not be able to afford it. She speaks fluent English and Spanish, and outside of running her busy medical practice enjoys traveling and reading.

Candice Small is Key Account Manager of Banks (Barbados) Breweries Ltd. (BBBL), a Barbadian based beverage manufacturer known for producing Barbados’ premier beer. The flagship company of Banks Holdings Limited, the firm was established in 1961 and is committed to maintaining a strong brand presence across Barbados and regionally, and demonstrating socially responsible practices and leadership behind their internationally renowned products.
With over a decade of professional experience, in her role Candice oversees the sales of BBBL products to large supermarkets, Key Accounts and Club stores. She handles pricing follow up, promotions and negotiations, and ensures logistics and supplies arrive efficiently and on time. She is an expert saleswoman and a seasoned marketing professional.
After earning a Bachelor of Science in Management Studies with First Class Honours from the University of the West Indies St. Augustine Campus, Candice went on to complete a Master of Science in International Management with Distinction from the University of the West Indies Cave Hill Campus. She launched her career in Barbados as a Brand Manager for Hanschell Inniss Limited and WBISCO, where she oversaw retail, sales and merchandising.
Candice credits her success to being a great communicator, and having a wealth of knowledge in analysis and consumer behavior. Outside of her professional endeavors, she enjoys swimming, networking and travel.

Sonia Bogaerts is the Senior Strategic Advisor at the Federal Public Service Mobility and Transport -Directorate General of Navigation. With over 8 years of experience in her field, she is an expert in performing strategic environment analysis and proposing strategic plans for the maritime sector. She is also a vital, integrated part of federal and international networks, including but not limited to EU, IMO, and EMSA. She defines and formulates strategic objectives in consensus with other network partners, creating and adjusting risk-analysis and management plans. She is responsible for writing strategic notes and the follow-up of maritime projects within FPS (EMAS, Integrated Maritime Policies, Motorways of the Seas, and Maritime State Aid). She is a widely recognized expert in the areas of management, logistics, strategy, supply chain, project planning and change management.
Sonia’s focus at this moment is on a number of climate projects to reduce emissions including Carbon, Nitrogen, and Sulphur, and on the evolution of the Arctic shipping routes. In addition to this, there is a lot of work being implemented right now towards digitalization in order to remove administrative burdens.
After earning her Masters Degree in Physical Chemistry from Catholic University of Leuven in 1978 and a Pedagogics degree from the same University in 1979, she went to develop her career, gaining valuable experiences in telecommunications before moving on to strategic maritime environment analysis. She has spoken at international conferences including the Quality of Service Development Group for Telecom and the Council and Technical Cooperation Group for the International Maritime Organization. She was published during her time at University and has been internally published with Telecom via Belgacom – Belgium.
Today, Sonia continues to network and grow professionally. She sees herself in a higher role within the maritime strategic department, such as an advisor general. Sonia wants to help empower, support, and help women to be successful in their careers. Outside of her professional life, she enjoys travel, photography, sailing, and hiking in her spare time.
