Audrey Burt is the President and Founder of S.Au.S., a charitable organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of people living with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. The organization is located in Candiac, Quebec.  Audrey is the mother to a teenage boy, who has severe autism and she made it her life’s work to raise autism awareness. In 2009, she organized an Autism Awareness Run which has become an annual event. With the money raised S.Au.S. set out to create leisure programs; soccer, dance, music, freeplay and free swim. In 2015, S.Au.S. opened its first summer camp for teens, focusing on youth between the ages of 13-21 and offering programming designed to increase communication capabilities, build social skills and focus on autonomy.

Most recently, Audrey embarked on a new venture, and in fall 2018 launched A Mama Bear, a blog and online support community for mothers. Offering a deeply personal glimpse into her own daily ups and downs raising a teenage son with severe autism. A Mama Bear helps to demystify autism and empowers others to celebrate their own unique journeys and struggles through motherhood.

Looking ahead, Audrey is in planning stages for S.Au.S to open an adult day center in the community. Recognizing a real lack of resources and services for adults living with an ASD, the day center will offer a safe and stimulating environment where these adults will be able to spend their days engaging in activities that help them continue to grow as individuals.

Audrey and her family reside in Candiac, Quebec. She holds a degree in History from Concordia University, and speaks fluent English and French. Outside of her entrepreneurial and family pursuits, she is an avid athlete, having completed 8 marathons (including the prestigious Boston Marathon) and has completed an Ironman 70.3.
