RecognizingMember, Renata von Muhlen

 

With over 22 years of experience in her field, Renata von Muhlen is a Tax Lawyer at Muhlen & Garcia Adv Assoc S/S, where she meets with clients who are filing taxes and helps them get the most money with the least financial impact. She is a pro-active woman who looks forward to get the best for her clients, planning and suggesting the right way to improve the business in Brazil.  Renata is also a professor teaching taxation and research at the Brazilian College of Taxation.
 
Renata holds her Master’s degree in Law from Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul which she obtained in 2006. Beyond that, Renata is a Specialist in Tax Law, title conferred by Brazilian Association of Tax Law.  Also a prolific writer, she has had many publications regarding taxation published throughout her career and she has an additional publication coming out this year. Moving forward, she plans to continue working in the same industry and teaching others. When not engaged with work, Renata enjoys traveling and reading.

Penny Pavlidou has over 8 years of experience in her current field. She is a Fashion Designer for Loveskirts.gr. Her daily routine is to take care of a very niche clientelle, creating tailor made clothes upon request and making her clients feel special and unique. Penny’s store boasts a large variety of exquisite luxury fashion fabrics from all over the world, while it specializes in the Liberty Of London fabric collections as well as in superior Scottish tartan and wool fabrics.
 
She started in 2017 her made-to-measure fashion business as an extra service to her family’s already established fashion business in Athens. Before that she was inn the public relations sector for 8 years and then she went into the baking industry. Her family has had a fashion business for the past 90 years and so she decided to pursue her love for fashion and creativity. She has a Master’s degree in Media Communications, and published a book on baking when she was in the baking industry.
 
Penny is currently studying couture fashion and pattern making and in the next few years aims to evolve as a fashion designer/ artist so as to collaborate with established fashion houses and start her own label at some point. In her free time she enjoys sports, traveling, and designing. She is looking forward to networking and connecting with other like-minded professionals, and to gaining the recognition and credibility of being a member.

Dr. Angelica V. Marte, MAS is a Senior Researcher at the Leadership Excellence Institute LEIZ | Zeppelin University, Germany, a Senior Lecturer at various Universities and the founder & CEO of the start-up “mim_more is more”. In her teaching, research, and entrepreneurship, she deals with topics of leadership development, diversity and gender-balance. She has also co-directed 3Sat-documentary films on various countries.  She says her focus and passion is on diversity, change and networking.

Offering over 25 years of experience in her field, her time is split between consulting, teaching, coaching and filming. A prominent female leader, she received her Doctoral Degree in Business Economics from the Private University Witten/Herdecke in Germany, and belongs to the German Coaching Association, the Systemic Society Germany, and the Database Supervisory Board Austria. She is also teaching at the Center for Systemic Research and Consulting (Heidelberg, Germany) for qualified systemic coaches.

Dr. Marte held speeches and has published numerous articles in the transdisciplinary interface of Economics, Sociology and Psychology. In the next few years she hopes to inspire people with a TED Talk, film more documentaries featuring female voices and have more impact on more people in society. She attributes her success to her free spirit and her ability to collaborate instead of compete, and credits her success to multiperspectivity, empathy and humor.

RecognizingKatleen Penel

 
As the daughter and granddaughter of hoteliers, Katleen Penel was inspired by hospitality from an early age. She was born and raised at the Hotel Penel, the former Echo de la Mer, one of the first hotels in Koksijde, operated by her grandfather and later by her father. She worked her way up through all the ranks and got to know every aspect of the hotel business.
 
Katleen studied at the Spermalie hotel and catering school. She obtained her teaching certificate in 1996 and immediately took her first professional steps as a teacher at the Ter Groene Poorte hotel and catering school. In 2000, she switched to teaching at Spermalie.
 
In 2008, she took on the role of PA to the general manager of the Kempinski Hotel in Bruges, and in that capacity, she helped expand the hotel. As a personal assistant and HR coordinator, she was actively involved in the hotel’s personnel policy and public relations. She taught hospitality training to the employees of the Kempinski group and was also responsible for the Schools Policy project. As part of this project, Katleen went on a tour of schools and hotels throughout Europe to promote the group, thereby expanding her worldwide network. The idea of supporting entrepreneurs in high-end hospitality as an independent consultant was born.  In 2016, she obtained her Master’s degree in Financial Management from the Antwerp Management School.
 
In recent years, Katleen has been involved as a hospitality consultant in large national and international projects. In 2018, she founded The Glory of Excellence, the company that offers guidance and support for top chefs, and puts them more firmly on the international map. Her brand-new concept offers (future) top chefs the network, coaching and support they need to increase their (international) publicity, visibility and expertise. Co-creation, the exchange of experiences and international collaborations are keywords in her approach. The ultimate goal? Making great chefs excel. To achieve her objective, Katleen Penel travels around the world to expand her extensive network in high-end hospitality and use it to support the top chefs. After all, it is very important for top chefs to connect with other talents in the sector.
 
The Glory of Excellence’s national and international community offers top chefs and their teams as well as aspiring talents the opportunity to get inspired, share knowledge and demonstrate their expertise on a global platform.

RecognizingDr. Jenny Acevedo Rincon

 

Jenny Acevedo Rincon is an esteemed Professor of Mathematics at the University of Atlantico (Barranquilla-Colombia) where she brings a genuine love for education to her role. She holds her Doctoral in Mathematics Education from the University of Campinas and is a member of the Mathematics Association in Brazil, Colombia, Mexico and Greece.

A dynamic public speaker, Jenny speaks frequently at conferences in different countries on mathematics, future professors and strategies for education inclusion. She has also been published in articles, books and web pages for her writing on strategies for mathematics lectures for professors.

Moving forward, Jenny plans to continue doing her mathematics professor development courses and to apply her core values of consistency, persistence, and dedication in all that she does. When not engaged with work, she enjoys travel and swimming.
