Dr. Pearlyn Henry-Burrell is a qualified and experienced educator who has over 20 years of experience in teaching and practicum supervision. Dr. Henry- Burrell currently works an Early Childhood Care and Education Officer with the Early Childhood Care and Education Unit, in the Ministry of Education. She also serves as a part-time Early Childhood lecturer and practicum supervisor with the University of the West Indies Open Campus, Cayman Islands. She previously served as a Special Education Coordinator (SENCO) for two Primary Schools.  Prior to assuming the role of a SENCO, Dr. Henry-Burrell served as a Kindergarten and Reception Class teacher and holds a Teaching Diploma and Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Shortwood Teachers’ College, MSc. in Inclusive Special Education from Roehampton University, an MSc. in Early Childhood Studies and a Doctorate in Curriculum, Assessment and Instruction from Walden University.
 
Dr. Henry-Burrell has extensive practice in Early Childhood Education and is the immediate past president of the Cayman Islands Early Childhood Association. She is a mentor and teacher trainer for aspiring and in service Early Childhood Practitioners. Dr. Henry-Burrell initiated and supported numerous community projects that support young children and their families. Dr. Henry-Burrell is an international speaker who presented on key matters pertaining to early Literacy and supporting children with special education needs. Additionally, she mentors and supports ladies through an online programme known as the Global Prayer Ladies Supper Club.
 
As a leader, she is passionate about making a difference in the field. Pearlyn holds her Doctorate degree in Curriculum Assessment and Instruction from Walden University and is a member of Cayman Island Early Childhood Association. Moving forward, she hopes to open an early childhood training institute for teachers to train, study and research.
 
In her spare time, Pearlyn enjoys traveling and singing.

A linguist and educationalist at heart, from an early age, her love for languages led her to pursue a degree in Translation and in Teaching English as a Foreign Language at the National University of Córdoba, Argentina. She worked part-time as a freelance translator and full-time as a teacher of English and English Literature at Language Schools, Secondary Schools, and at the National University of Cordoba as an EAP and ESP Tutor.

After moving to the UK in 2002, she started working full-time as a freelance translator while finishing her MA in Applied Linguistics & TESOL (University of Leicester) with a dissertation on Bilingualism. A few years later, she was awarded an MA (Merit) in Management by the London Metropolitan University with a dissertation on Total Quality Management in Secondary Schools. Carina is a Certified Localisation Professional, a Member of The Chartered Institute of Linguists (CIOL), and a Chartered Linguist as a Translator and in Education. She has also been elected as a Member of the CIOL Council, for the second consecutive period. She has combined 25 years’ experience in the translation profession and in foreign language teaching and co-founded My Language Hub with her husband, a language service company based in Hertfordshire, UK. She has recently published a textbook that prepares students for the IGCSE exam in First Language Spanish, and is developing a programme for linguists and language professionals who wish to make a career pivot into the translation and interpreting profession.

Christine Logan is a celebrated children’s author. She began her writing career with poetry, at the young age of 15, and is passionate about her work. Christine draws upon her personal experience and finds inspiration in past jobs and work, as well as in motherhood and now grandmother-hood. She is known for a rich and illustrative imagination and is a compelling, prolific storyteller.

Her engaging stories are known for being easy to read and sharing positive messages with their readers. She earned a diploma in art and is certified in RMACL, where she serves as a residential support worker for adults. Kayla Black is Executive Director of the American Prohibition Museum, where she oversees various aspects of curation, interpretation, operational design and development, technology design and development, hiring and employee development, and special events management, and outreach.

Her tenure as the Director of the American Prohibition Museum began quite a while before the official opening of the space, as she had the unique pleasure of being able to develop the space from the initial outset of construction and design in an empty second floor warehouse through until the present. This included various aspects of curation, interpretation, operational design and development, technology design and website development, hiring and SOPs, license obtainment, and employee development.

In addition to her role as Executive Director of the American Prohibition Museum, Kayla is on the Axillary Board of Directors for the Savannah Repertory Theatre, and is a Graduate Program Mentor at Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania.

After opening in May of 2017, Kayla has led the American Prohibition Museum and Congress Street Up (the Speakeasy inside of the museum) through several successful years of operation, writing and maintaining budgets and budgetary controls. She has been involved in developing and supporting groups, events, charters, students, Girl Scouts, weddings, and bar programs. Kayla has integrated moral boosting and site healthy programs, worked as a member of the Coastal Museum Association, created partnerships with various community businesses, and maintained a high level of guest service throughout.
